I’ve been visiting various places while hunting for rendering bugs.
Last night I paid a visit to Shiki Jinja ❗️

I thought I’d squashed most of the weird issues, but there are still plenty left…
Compared to Firestorm:

  • The glow is too strong
  • The light curtains render too crisply
  • The torii gate’s details aren’t coming through
  • The translucent parts of the stall lights aren’t rendering as translucent
  • The grass on the rock on the left side of the screen isn’t showing up

Separately, up until now I hadn’t been adjusting the EEP to match each photo, but it’s much better to be able to fine-tune things like the sky color, clouds, and star intensity on the fly while shooting.
I noticed this while photographing fireworks, and adjusted the EEP as I shot this time too, so I’m thinking of bringing that control higher up the hierarchy so it can be called up instantly 🫡
